An Early Holiday Dinner

A bit belated, but here are pictures from the holiday dinner party we threw two weeks ago.  I’d been dying to have everyone in NYC and DC come to Philly to see my place, and Christmas was the perfect excuse!  We expected this 8-course dinner for 14 was going to be unwieldy and panicky, but after two days of prepping, dinner was unexpectedly smooth and hassle-free!  The perks of having friends who all love to cook. Thanks to E for the pictures!

The courses:

Gougères: toasted gruyère, eggs, butter

Grilled Shrimp Lettuce Wraps: lemongrass, sriracha, vermicelli, ponzu

Green Bean Salad: toasted almonds, fried shallots, miso dressing

Spicy Roasted Cauliflower: rosemary, raisins, red wine vinegar

Beef Wellington: tenderloin, wild mushrooms, foie gras

Pumpkin Bread Pudding: sugar, spice, everything nice

Petit Fours: macarons, caramels
